Franz Wright was born in Vienna in 1953 and grew up in the Northwest, the Midwest, and Northern California. His most recent works include The Beforelife (a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize), Ill Lit: Selected and New Poems, Walking to Martha’s Vineyard which won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize, and God's Silence. He has been the recipient of two National Endowment for the Arts grants, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Whiting Fellowship, and the PEN/Voelcker Prize, among other honors. He works at the Edinburg Center for Mental Health and the Center for Grieving Children and Teenagers. His forthcoming book God’s Silence is due for release in February of 2006.
Sharon Pywell Sharon Pywell has been published in Antioch Review, Western Humanities Review, Southern Review, and Virginia Quarterly Review. She is a former MacDowell Fellow and author of the novel What Happened to Henry.
Jennifer Rose Jennifer Rose is the author of The Old Directon of Heaven and Hometown for an Hour, and is the recipient of awards and fellowships in the National Endowment for the Arts, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, and the Poetry Society of America, among others. Her poems have appeared in Poetry, The Nation, Ploughshares, and elsewhere. She works as a city planner, specializing in downtown revitalization.

David Hackett Fischer is the Earl Warren Professor of History at Brandeis University. He has written a number of acclaimed books including Albion’s Seed and Paul Revere’s Ride. His most recent book, Washington’s Crossing, won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize in history.
Olga Broumas was born and raised in Greece. She won the Yale Younger Poets Award in 1977, the first non-native speaker of English to win the prize. She has also received Guggenheim, NEA, Witter Bynner, and State Arts Fellowships and has published seven collections of poetry and four books of translation from Nobel laureate Odysseas Elytis. She is the poet-in-residence at Brandeis University and the Director of Creative Writing.
Susanne Whayne is a teacher and writer. She has written close to a dozen books for children. Her most recent work is Petropolis, which was illustrated by her brother, Christopher.
